A hit and run driver has allegedly hit and left on the road side Mr. William Mukoro, Senior Photojournalist with Urhobo Voice Newspaper.
This incident was reported to have occurred on Monday evening at Ovwian junction off Udu road, Warri.
Explaining the incident, an eyewitness who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity said that immediately the vehicle ran over the victim, the driver sped off thinking that the Journalist was dead.
The eye witness also said efforts to chase the vehicle was not as successful as the dusk to dawn curfew was near.
It was gathered that Mukoro was rushed to Kwofia Clinic by sympathizers and the prompt response of the medical team helped to revive the victim.
The victim who laid critical on the bed narrated said: “I was standing by the road, that’s all I remembered. Later I woke up to see am strapped on the bed here in hospital.
“I was told that a fast vehicle hit me down and ran away. the People thought I was dead, but some good people rushed me here. Without any money and contact, the Doctor and team revived me.
“The Doctor later used my phone to contact my friends and family members. I want to thank the hospital for saving my life.
“Whoever does this evil against me, I leave him to God, he has caused me and my family untold hardship in this lockdown period.
“God will help me to overcome this challenge.”
As at press time, Mukoro is still critically down at the hospital.
