The Director-General Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has adviced corp members to identify their individual talents and harness them for both personal and societal development.
He made these statements today, while addressing the 2019 Batch C stream two corps members in Plateau state orientation camp Mangu during a visit to the NYSC Camp.
Also speaking he stated that, corp members should study the immediate needs of their host community and execute project that will alleviate the suffering of the residents, stressing that, “Don’t leave your host community the way you met then but try and leave lasting good memories that history would not forget”.
Speaking further, Brigadier General Ibrahim also hinted that Let the community take ownership of the project you are providing for them and don’t borrow money or spend your personal money to execute any project”.
The DG also urged them to be patriotic to national unity and avoid hate speeches, adding in strong terms that they should desist from boarding night vehicles, unauthorized motorparks and ensure they move in groups.
“You must be very careful and comport yourself in responsible manners. Whatever you do today may either make you or mar you in the future’, the DG added.
