Traditional rulers, under the leadership of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Professor Chike Edozien, have unanimously endorsed foremost Anioma patriot and PDP Delta North Senatorial aspirant, Prince Ned Nwoko, as their consensus choice.
They lauded the Sterling altruistic disposition of the Anioma-born Prince Nwoko, and also his legion acts of love for Anioma, as the be-all and end-all of their unanimous decision.
Rising from an enlarged meeting of the Anioma traditional rulers council which had over forty ( 40) Royal father’s across the nine (9) local government councils that make up the Delta North Senatorial district, the Obi of Abavo and Vice Chairman of the group, HRM lrienuma who read the communique issued after the meeting, said the choice of Hon Prince Ned Nwoko as their consensus candidate to represent Delta North at the red Chambers, come 2023, is incontrovertible, judging from his track records in literally every field of human endeavor.
Flanked by the secretary of the council, Obi of Atuma lga kingdom, HRM Daniel Ogbodu, the Abavo monarch emphasized that their choice of Prince Ned Nwoko was also a result of his nationalistic fervor and multidimensional approach to Anioma related issues, such as his attracting the first Sports University in the entire sub-Saharan University in Africa domiciled in Anioma land, Idumuje ugboko specifically.
Noting, in addition, the singular initiative of the Anioma born international legal icon to highlight the injustice of the illegal Paris Club refunds which ultimately heaved a sigh of relief to Nigeria and exited it from recession, Obi Irienuma stated unequivocally that the Delta North Traditional rulers council did not need to look any further in their choice of a consensus candidate to represent them.
The 15-point communique also noted, with Glee, that Prince Ned Nwoko had never been found wanting in moral rectitude and good works too, not only in Anioma but across all strata in general.
Recalling the Anioma billionaire’s antecedents as the house of reps member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency from 1999 to 2003, the communique said the performance of Prince Ned Nwoko which was among others the current Benin Onitsha expressway, the current Delta Police headquarters complex, the NTA Asaba premises and too many numerous initiatives, were tops of the iceberg, assuring that they are resolute in their support for Nwoko.
The communique which stated that they are in full support of Ned Nwoko,s malaria eradication, and other nationalistic programs, urged all Anioma people both at home and in the diaspora, to support the biggest and most profitable cause that will take Anioma a notch higher among the comity of senatorial districts in Nigeria and beyond.
