Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has officially announced the release date of his sixth album and also revealed the title.
The singer said his next album titled ‘Love Damini’ would be released on July 2, 2022, which happens to be his birthday.
Burna Boy announced this on Twitter on Friday after his Madison Square Garden concert.
While announcing, he also gives details about the album stating that the project will highlight some of his life struggles, he tweeted “Love Damini is a persona body of work. It’s about the ups and downs, the growth, the L’s and W’s. I’m excited to share this journey and roll [it] out with you all.”
The new project comes two years after the release of his fifth studio album ‘Twice as Tall.’
Burna Boy gains recognition in Nigeria’s music scene in 2013 after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’.
In 2017, he signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the US and Warner Music Group internationally.
His second studio album ‘On A Spaceship’ came in 2015 but ‘Outside’, his third, marked his major-label debut.
Burna’s fourth album ‘African Giant’ was released in July 2019 and nominated for the 62nd Grammy Awards.
In the same year, he won ‘Best International Act’ at the BET Awards and was named an Apple Music Up Next artist.
His fifth album ‘Twice as Tall’ was nominated for the 2021 Grammys and it won.
This achievement made the singer the first Nigerian to score back-to-back nominations at the Grammys.
