Indications emerged Tuesday evening that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has been suspended by the party in Edo State.
A source who broke the news to journalists disclosed that a vote of no confidence was passed on him by the State Excecutive Committee of the party.
Also affected is the state Secretary of the party, Lawrence Okah. It will be recalled that Okah, had earlier been suspended by the party until his eventual removal earlier Tuesday.
Details remained sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
A source hinted that it may not be unconnected with his running battle with his successor and “political godson” and current governor of the State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
His suspension is being seen as a test of political might by the state party machinery believed to be in firm control of the party in the state, and loyal to the governor.
A source disclosed that Oshiomhole, in order to serve Obaseki the “Ambode treatment” has convinced Pastor Osagie Iye-Iyanmu, Obaseki’s opponent in the governorship elections of 2016 to cross over to APC and promised the party’s ticket.
However, with the suspension of Oshiomhole, it remains unseen what this would portend in the days to come.
