The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has commended the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) for partnering with the local media in publicizing its activities.
Mr Aniagwu gave the commendation in his key note address during the commission’s Media and Public Affairs Unit’ s 2019 Award/End of Year Dinner Party held Ugberikoko, Uvwie Local Government Area.
Mr Aniagwu who was represented by the Acting General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri, Pastor Malcolm Oteri, noted that partnering with the local media would send the message of DESOPADEC to the grass root and urged the commission to sustain the partnership.
The information commissioner stated that the Delta State Ministry of Information recognized DESOPADEC as an integral part of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration mission for a stronger Delta State, promising that the ministry would support and encourage its partnership with DESOPADEC.
The Chairman of event, Mr Peter Okotie- Eboh who is also the Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer CEO of Crown/ Kpoko FM Warri and Asaba in his opening speech, commended DESOPADEC for partnering with the local media, especially his media outfits, calling for sustenance of the partnership.
The Head, Media and Public Affairs Unit, DESOPADEC, Chinenye Ezonfade, in her welcome address, said among other things that credit should be given to the new Managing Director (MD) of DESOPADEC in whatever achievements the commission has recorded so far in partnering with the media in the state and beyond.
“All these new innovations were products of the renewed vision of the present board with the proactive leadership of our MD/CEO, Bashorun Hon Askia Ogieh,” she stated.
The event featured special Christmas carols rendered by staff of DESOPADEC to the applaud of guests.
The highpoint of the event was the award of excellence to personalities that contributed to the achievements of the Media and Public Affairs Unit of DESOPADEC
