The Chairman of Air Peace Airlines, Allen Onyema, has been honored by the House of Representatives for his show of patriotism.
The Chairman was invited to appear before the House today, in recognition of his generous decision to put his airplanes for use, to return Nigerians who were being attacked In the wake of the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
The speaker of the house of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila stated that the House is honouring Onyema for his level of patriotism displayed so far noting that the House will recommend him to the federal Government for further honour.
He also disclosed that as at the present moment, Onyema has lifted over 498 Nigerians from South Africa, stressing that his planes have returned to South Africa to airlift more returnees to Nigeria.
The speaker also described the air peace chairman’s motivation and gesture as spontaneous stating that it was to mitigate the hardship being faced by Nigerians in South Africa.
